The Fussy Cat story - Yanna and Jake

Yanna was no ordinary cat. She was a Bengal, a breed known for its wild looks and playful nature. With her sleek, spotted coat and piercing green eyes, she was the queen of her human's home. Jake, on the other hand, was a humble moggie, an intruder who her human brought home one day. He was smaller, with a tabby coat, three white feet and a boisterous demeanour.

At first, Yanna was unimpressed by Jake. She was used to being the centre of attention, and she wasn't sure what to make of this scruffy little intruder. Jake, however, was immediately smitten with Yanna. He would follow her around the house, his big fluffy tail twitching with excitement.

Yanna, being the cat she was, couldn't resist a challenge. She began to play with Jake, batting at him with her paw and chasing him around the house. Jake, despite his smaller size, would chase her back, his eyes wide with excitement.

Over time, Yanna and Jake became the best of friends. They would cuddle together on the couch, play together in the garden, and even share their food. Yanna, who had once been so aloof, became incredibly protective of Jake. She would hiss at any other cat who dared to come near him.

One day, Jake disappeared. Yanna was frantic. She searched the neighbourhood, her meows echoing through the streets. Finally, she found him, huddled under a bush, shivering and scared. He was still so young and had crept out of an open window and was lost. Yanna immediately curled up next to him, purring softly. She stayed with him until he was warm and safe and her human found them.

From that day forward, Yanna and Jake were inseparable. They were a testament to the power of friendship, no matter how different the two might seem.

The human in the story is me, a normal bloke called Dave. I'd had Yanna a few weeks, from the age of 6 months or so, but she didn't like being left alone whilst I was out at work, so Jake was the replacement 'Dave'! However, that didn't go as planned for a few months and lots of fur was traded. Luckily, they're now the best of friends. Probably a familiar story to many cat owners.

Jake always loved his drinking water. Yanna however was another story. 6 months into ownership, I'd yet to see her take a drink. I bought a water fountain in an effort to get her to drink, and she sat there watching me assemble the green and white affair complete with the yellow flower on top with much excitement. I filled it up with water and presented her with this new contraption.

Immediately it was torn apart to its constituent components and water expelled onto the carpet without a drop being drunk!
